Worthing Museum presents the Autumn Lecture Series.

Our hugely popular lecture series returns on Thursday evenings this October & November. An intimate season of talks with our archaeology curator James Sainsbury and guest speakers. Explore a wide range of subjects from Palaeolithic mega-floods and Stone Age religion to the stories of famous local landmarks, Norman invaders and World War I. This year we'll also have two special lectures looking at fascinating elements of our museum collections - a newly discovered Victorian naval journal and our extensive, hidden medals collection. Ticket price includes a glass of wine or tea/coffee.

The Story of Cissbury Ring
Join our archaeologist James for a lecture revealing the historical secrets of mighty Cissbury Ring. From Stone Age flint mining to Iron Age ramparts and World War 2 defences, Cissbury has fascinated locals and visitors alike for centuries. This talk will look at the archaeology of the site as well as the pioneering archaeologists themselves who were responsible for innovative approaches to the discipline. There will be an object handling session after this lecture.
